90s: in the heart of Tuscany, agritourism is booming, many farmers rush to improvise as hoteliers. They all follow the same model: a swimming pool surrounded by apartments and a few homemade products from the land. As time passes, in Vinci the offer becomes superior to the demand, some businesses start to close, the agricultural production becomes smaller and smaller. “POGGIO GIULIO” work as a sample, is dedicated to the restoration of an abandoned borgo. It is a place where people can go to learn about traditions: how to make a ragu, the process of wine-making or the grinding of wheat to make flour.The aim was not to change the existing buildings too much through minimal and reversible interventions preserving their history.
